- The Mitochondrial Physiology Society decided at their general meetings during MiP2007 and MiPsummer 2007 to organize the '2nd MiPsummer School on Mitochondrial Physiology' on 12-18 July 2008 in Schroecken, Austria.
- Based on contributions by several members of the MiPadvisory Board, we extend our invitation and ask you for your oppinion, interest, and potential support for this MiPevent. We are confident to continue a successful tradition in line with MiPsummer 2007, by again addressing this activity of the MiPsociety to students (in the widest sense of the word).
- We offer the '2nd MiPsummer School' for up to 70 participants, with particular focus on OXPHOS, respiratory chain and mitochondrial respiratory (dys)function in the context of Mitochondrial Physiology. The main topics will evolve according to the specific input by the lecturers and suggestions by participants. A large number of reserach and clinical groups are now entering the field of mitochondrial functional diagnosis, and students require an up-to-date background that can be provided by lecturers who are leaders in the field.
- This MiPevent (12.-18. July 2008) preceedes directly the 15th European Bioenergetics Congress in Dublin, Ireland (EBEC 2008).
- Full cost, 6 days (accomodation, all meals, registration): β¬ 320.- for students and β¬ 640.- for 'non-students', plus β¬ 55.- for optional MiPtransfer from Bregenz to Schroecken (subject to change, final information will be provided with the registration form).
- I thank those colleagues who already agreed to support this MiPsummer School by their valuable contributions to the evolving scientific programme. We welcome further suggestions and contributions, and thank for your cooperation.
- Looking forward to seeing you this July
- with kind regards,
- Erich Gnaiger
